1. India’s Equity Fund Flows Surge 11% in March
India’s equity net fund flows improved by 11% in March 2026, rising from Rs 41,934 crore in February to Rs 46,501 crore, according to a Vallum Capital report. The surge was led by manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, with large-cap funds absorbing Rs 28,558 crore in inflows—a jump of Rs 19,242 crore from February. However, money-market net fund flows reversed sharply from Rs 42,800 crore to negative Rs 1,94,775 crore, while fixed-income outflows widened from Rs -16,919 crore to Rs -76,354 crore, indicating redemption pressure and sensitivity to interest rates. 1
2. Indian E-Retail to Reach $170-180B by 2030: Bain Report
India’s e-retail market is projected to grow at over 20% CAGR through 2030, reaching $170-180 billion in gross merchandise value (GMV), according to a Bain & Company report. The market reached $65-66 billion in 2025, growing at 19-21% CAGR. Smaller cities and towns now account for over 60% of online shoppers, driving the next phase of growth. The report also noted that e-retail advertising accounts for around 25% of digital ad spend, as Amazon and Walmart’s Flipkart continue to dominate the market. 2
3. Asian Startup Funding: India-Based GobbleCube Raises $15M
In Week 16 of 2026 funding activity across Asia, India-based analytics platform GobbleCube raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Susquehanna Venture Capital, with participation from InfoEdge Ventures and Kae Capital. Bengaluru-based industrial AI startup Intellithink raised ₹17 crore ($1.82 million) led by Pentathlon Ventures, with participation from Anicut Capital and Veltis Capital. Other regional rounds included China’s Pangbot ($27.6M), Japan’s Culta ($4.5M), and Singapore’s OrtCloud ($1.7M). 3
4. Women Reservation Bill Fails to Pass in Indian Parliament
India’s Parliament failed to pass a landmark bill to reserve one-third of seats for women in the lower house, along with a linked proposal to expand the national legislature by redrawing voting boundaries. The delimitation exercise, which would have redefined electoral constituencies based on updated population data, was tied to the women’s reservation bill. While the bill’s failure creates uncertainty around future political representation, it remains a key issue for the Modi government. 4
